Fun Football (7 - 8)

The FC Nelson Winter Fun Football season kicks off Saturday 4th May @Neale Park, starting at 10 am. 

Welcome, all to the 2024 season. We are excited to get our youngest members started in their football journey through FC Nelson.

Fun Football - We allocated players into teams before the start of the season and rotate teams each week to play a different opposition. The two or four teams on the same pitch will do a little combined warm up together before they play their game. The format is going to be 3v3 or 4v4, again to provide many opportunities for everyone to play and get touches on the ball.

Fun Football 

Kick off 10:15am to 11:15am. Starting with a warm up game we head straight into two games 20mins each way with a drinks break in between games. The teams will play someone different in the second game. There will be a draw on my board.  So far we only have 4 teams. Teams will be made on Friday and be displayed at the game so come a bit earlier to see who is in your team. I would love to have a few more teams so please encourage your child's friends or school mates to play. Please send them to our website to register, www.fcnelson.co.nz

Please provide your child with 

• Shinpads
• Socks, shorts
• boots
• waterbottle. 

They will be provided with a FC shirt for the games but they go back in the bags after the game.  An undergarment is advised. 

We finish up 24th August, and have the school holidays off.  Cancellations will be on our facebook page early if ever the weather turns.

• Technical & Tactical – lots of touches, 1v1s, attacking & defending
• Physical – develop Functional Movement Patterns, more active
• Mental – lots of opportunities for success and for decision making

Each Saturday is divided into 4 components:

• 20% General movement
• 20% Football coordination
• 20% Football Technique
• 40% Small sided football games

Gear

We encourage kids to wear football boots.

Shin pad and socks are mandatory for everyone.

A water bottle should be brought to every session.
