13th & 14th grade tournament experiences for 2020 -

Christchurch international Cup & South Island tournament.

(See tournaments 2020 for dates)

Players will be allocated into teams in Pre season (Feb/Mar) and stay with this team for the whole season. This will ensure the best possible preparation for the 2020 tournament trips to Christchurch CIC and the South Island tournaments.  NO extra trials needed!

All tournament trips are self funded by the team going. All teams will be supported by FC Nelson’s Junior & Youth Committee. (Funding, fundraising ideas etc.)

FC Nelson’s most competitive teams (in their respective age groups) will travel to the CIC tournament in July.

All interested players - regardless of skill and aspiration - are able to experience tournament football at the end of the season (September, October) when FC Nelson is sending it’s teams to the South Island tournaments. Different tiers (tier 1, tier 2) will accommodate for everyone. (First come first served basis, limited spaces available)

We are really excited about the opportunity to send as many players to these tournament experiences as possible.

FC Nelson Opening Day will include a game scenario for all registered players (grading) in order for the DOF and grade coordinators to allocate players into the best available team set up. For this age grade (13&14th grade) we are spreading the players into social & competitive pathways.

Registration will close BEFORE the opening day! So in order to participate in the opening day you need to be registered, otherwise players might miss out on being allocated into their most preferred/most fitting team.

Opening Day also including Apparel selection (e.g. NEW FC Socks & Shorts mandatory for all players in 2020)

Intermediate girls 13+

With low numbers in girl football in the region, we have not had an out and out girls league last season (2019).

Our intermediate girls therefore joined a mixed league in the 13th grade. Numbers permitted our intermediate girls team will join the merged 13th & 14th grade league in 2020. Again numbers permitted we will always try and have a "girls only" team.

Intermediate girls can also play in a mixed team if they prefer to. Girls are allowed to play down a grade.

.

Pathway into Senior football (Boys & Girls)

Players 15+ (girls from 14+) are allowed to play Senior football in Nelson.

If interested please make contact with your coach or our DOF and he will enable a pathway or discuss options for everyone interested.

We want to bring Youth & Senior football closer together and give our Youth players the best platform to develop.

We will gradually introduce Youth players into the Senior environment and give them their first Senior football experiences/game time when they are ready.

.

Additional Training opportunities with Tasman United Academy - Pathway for FC Nelson players to join Nelson's National League set up. FC Nelson Summer Football, Skill Centre (13th grade)
