FC Nelson 1st Division Team make the News

Biggest win of the season sees FC Nelson crowned division one football champions.

FC Nelson hammered Wakefield 10-0 to win their first Nelson division one football title since 2013.

With a one point advantage heading into the final round of the season, FC knew they just had to beat Wakefield to get their hands on the division one football trophy for the first time since 2013.

It ended up being a white-wash. FC scored seven second-half goals to hammer Wakefield 10-0 at the Wakefield Domain on Saturday, while runners-up Richmond Athletic, who were relying on a Wakefield upset, ended up losing 5-1 to Tahuna anyway.

Crosswell was one of seven players to get their name on the scoresheet, with Labu Pan, Sean Parkes and Ignacio Lage scoring doubles, while Brandyn Pirere, Wesley Olea and Izaak Cunningham also contributed one each.

The 10-0 scoreline was FC's biggest win of the season, saving their most dominant performance until the end. They finished the season with a record of 17 wins, one draw and three defeats, scoring 96 goals and conceding just 28.
